Al-Ittihad extended their perfect start to the Saudi Pro League season with a thumping 7-1 win over Al-Wehda on Monday, with Karim Benzema scoring a hat-trick.

The hosts took the lead through Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 12th minute, and Benzema doubled their advantage just three minutes later.

Al-Ittihad were rampant in the second half, with Benzema completing his hat-trick in the 52nd minute.

Al-Wehda pulled one back through Firas Al-Buraikan in the 65th minute, but Al-Ittihad restored their four-goal lead through Ahmed Sharahili 10 minutes later.

Substitute Haroune Camara made it 6-1 in the 85th minute, and Al-Ittihad completed the scoring in stoppage time through an own goal from Al-Wehda defender Abdullah Al-Hafith.

The win sees Al-Ittihad move top of the Saudi Pro League table, while Al-Wehda remain bottom without a point from their first two games.

Benzema's Treble

Karim Benzema's hat-trick was his first in the Saudi Pro League since joining Al-Ittihad in the summer.

The Frenchman has now scored four goals in two games for his new club, and he is already proving to be a valuable addition to their attack.

Benzema's goalscoring prowess is well-known, and he will be hoping to continue his fine form for Al-Ittihad throughout the season.

Al-Ittihad's Perfect Start
