Dodgers First Baseman Freddie Freeman Returned To The Teams Lineup On Monday After His Youngest Son Was Released From The Hospital Following An Eight Day Stay

Freddie Freeman Returns to Dodgers After Son's Hospitalization

Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman returned to the team's lineup on Monday after his youngest son was released from the hospital following an eight-day stay.

Freeman's son, Charlie, was admitted to the hospital on March 16 with a fever and vomiting. He was diagnosed with a virus and spent several days in the intensive care unit before being released on Monday. "It's been a tough week, but we're so grateful that Charlie is home now," Freeman said. "He's still a little weak, but he's doing well." Freeman said he was grateful for the support of his teammates and the Dodgers organization during his son's hospitalization. "I've got a lot of great people around me," Freeman said. "My teammates, my coaches, the Dodgers organization, they've all been so supportive. I'm so grateful for them." Freeman is expected to be back in the lineup for the Dodgers on Tuesday when they face the Arizona Diamondbacks.
