Bouchard's Second Goal Lifts Edmonton To Victory
Oilers Finally Snap Game 1 Skid
Evan Bouchard's second goal of the game lifted the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-3 overtime win against the Dallas Stars in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series on Tuesday night.
The Oilers came into the 2024 playoffs losing seven straight Game 1s, but they finally snapped that skid by beating the Los Angeles Kings in Round 1.
Dallas took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski, but Edmonton stormed back with three unanswered goals in the second period from Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Bouchard.
Seguin tied the game with a power-play goal with 2:32 left in the third period, but Bouchard won it for the Oilers with a wrist shot from the right circle at 3:27 of overtime.
Mike Smith made 27 saves for the Oilers, while Jake Oettinger made 24 saves for the Stars.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Thursday night in Dallas.
