Manchester City Dominate to Claim Derby Victory
Blues Triumph at Old Trafford
Own Goal and Silva Strike Seal Three Points
Manchester City produced a dominant display to secure a 2-1 victory over rivals Manchester United in the highly anticipated Manchester derby on Saturday. An own goal from Eric Bailly and a superb strike from Bernardo Silva earned the reigning Premier League champions all three points at Old Trafford.
Despite falling behind to a Marcus Rashford opener in the first half, Pep Guardiola's side showed their class in the second period, controlling possession and creating numerous chances. Their dominance paid off in the 78th minute when substitute Anthony Martial's wayward backpass was deflected into his own net by Bailly. Just minutes later, Silva sealed the victory with a clinical finish into the bottom corner.
The win extends City's unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 matches and strengthens their grip on top spot in the Premier League standings. It also marks the first time since 2018 that they have won both derbies against their bitter rivals in the same season.
